How far away should a projector be?
For any given projector, the width of the image (W) relative to the throw distance (D) is know as the throw ratio D/W or distance over width. So for example, the most common projector throw ratio is 2.0. This means that for each foot of image width, the projector needs to be 2 feet away or D/W = 2/1 = 2.0.

The typical zoom ratio is at 1.2. In other words, you can vary the image size is 20 percent smaller or bigger. The range of the zoom ratio can go as low as 0.4 and as high as 2.1.

Does projector need to be centered?
Ideally, the center of the projector’s lens should align with the horizontal center of your screen, although some projectors do allow for offset installation. If you can’t have your projector dead center, for whatever reason, be sure to look for projectors with a lens-shift feature.
How far should I sit from a 120 inch screen?
With one caveat..which we will get to in a bit. If your family likes being near the center of the theater, then choose a screen size which has about 10 inches of diagonal for each foot of viewing distance. That’s about 120-inch diagonal for a 12 foot viewing distance.
Can I put projector in corner?
You can use your projector at an angle, just be ready to make some adjustments to the image. Chances are, it will be off-center or distorted at first. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to move the projector, there are ways you can bring the image into focus, either with keystone correction or lens shift.
Does zoom affect quality projector?
While projector zoom won’t affect image quality in the case of Optical Zoom, which changes the image size by manipulating light, Digital Zoom can degrade image quality and lead to pixelation because it works by manipulating the source image.
