Can I port my landline to Ooma?
You must port your phone number to Ooma before you can get rid of your landline. Number porting costs a one-time fee of $39.99 per number you wish to port, and is available in most areas. For customers that upgrade to an annual subscription to Ooma Premier you can port one number absolutely free.
Does OOMA work with VPN?
Yes. It is a network device directly connected to your network. That VPN traffic is point to point and just looks like regular old network traffic to the ooma.
Why is OOMA solid red?
The Ooma logo on the front of the Ooma Telo Base Station or Phone Genie will flash red when the device is not able to connect to the Ooma service. This may happen upon first use if the device has not been activated properly.

How can I port my landline number?
Lift the receiver of your landline phone and dial *72 after you hear the dial tone. Dial the 10-digit phone number you’d like to forward these calls to, followed by the # sign. Wait for confirmation that call forwarding has been successfully set up.
How do I connect my Ooma to my modem?
Use the Ethernet cable included in the box to connect the TO INTERNET port on your Base Station to an open Ethernet port on your router.
- Then, use your phone cord to plug your analog phone or cordless base unit into the PHONE port on the Base Station.
- Finally, use the included AC adapter to plug in the POWER port.
