When can you join National Charity League?
Membership is available for mothers and their daughters (grades 7-12). Prospective members should apply in their daughter’s 6th grade year. The membership drive for most chapters is open from October to January.
Why are NCL girls called Ticktockers?
When a girl becomes a NCL member she is referred to as a “tick-tocker.” This is a reference to years ago when the girls weren’t part of the organization but often accompanied their mothers to meetings and events. Each class has up to twenty girls and the members stay together throughout their six years as tick-tockers.
