How does Tekkit work?

Tekkit is a launcher program that allows you to manage multiple Minecraft mods from one convenient location so you can avoid installing mods separately to the Minecraft folder on your computer. You can install the Tekkit client, or install the Tekkit server if you want to host Minecraft sessions for multiple players.

What can you do on Tekkit?

There really is no limit to what you can do in Tekkit. Despite the existence of the singleplayer Technic modpack, Tekkit can also be played in singleplayer. (Technic adds a few singleplayer-only mods.) Right-clicking on an item in Not Enough Items will show you all the recipes where the specified item is used.

What can you do in Tekkit Lite?

Make a basic macerator+electric furnace+batbox+generator setup.

Make the above setup fully automated with input and output chests.

Make a quarry.

Make a nether lava pump -> tank for geothermal power.

Make a mark V nuclear reactor.

Make an automated tree farm.

Make a turtle build a tower for you.

Can I use a sorting machine to sort tools?

If you plan on using the sorting machine to sort tools into a chest, don’t. Use diamond pipes instead. Sorting machines will not recognize tools with different amounts of usage as being the same tool and will cause some problems with your system.

What is the difference between a filter and a sorting machine?

Like the Filter it can be used inline (meaning between Pneumatic Tubes) or connected to an inventory (usually a Chest or a Buffer ). A sorting machine can be used to color code items which will assist with the output destinations. Sorting machines are powered through Blutricity .

How many colors does the sorting machine support?

There are a total of sixteen different colors that the sorting machine will accept. If the Sorting Machine is directly connected to a chest filled with a single item (ex: Condenser chest of redstone) you can then sort up to 8 colors of output.
