What does Hy Vent do?

Should automatic exhaust vent be left open?
When they are left open any nitrogen accumulating because of corrosion is vented away, giving the impression all is fine, especially in a vented system. If nitrogen is being produced it will make parts of the system cold which raises alarm bells.
How does a boiler air vent work?
When liquid is pumped through the system at startup, the initial air inside the piping is pushed into the air vent by the pressure of the flow. The float remains in the lower part of the air vent, allowing the valve to remain open and continuously discharge air.
Why do vents leak water?
If condensation builds up around the air vent, it can cause water to drip. Often, this is caused by a clogged condensate drain line. If the drip pan is overflowing, you are likely dealing with a clogged condensate drain line.
