Grow Your Hair Out Locks of Love requires a minimum of 10″ of hair for donation. To see if your hair is long enough for donation, pull your hair back in a pony tail and measure from approximately 1″ to 2″ above your pony tail holder to the tip of the ends of your hair.
Can you donate 6 inches hair to Locks of Love?
Hair We Share and Children with Hair Loss both accept colored or grey but not highlighted hair over 8 inches. Locks of Love and Pink Heart Funds both take hair colored or grey but not over-processed or bleached hair over 10 inches. Wigs for Kids will take grey, but not dyed, hair that is at least 12 inches long.

What kind of hair can be used for locks of Love?
Locks of Love is not a manufacturer of any type of hair replacement system or hair care product. As a charity and strictly a charity, we purchase the custom prostheses we provide free of charge to our recipients. Colored or permed hair is acceptable. Any hair NOT bundled in a ponytail or braid, cannot be used.
Does locks of Love accept wigs or hair extensions?
Because Locks of Love creates custom hairpieces for each child, we cannot use donations of wigs, falls, hair extensions or synthetic hair The Hair Donation Form is not required to donate hair.
