That depends on the adult that wants to read the series. I started the series in my late 30’s and I quite enjoyed it. I liked it so much I picked up some of Colfer’s other books as well (but have yet to read his adult offerings). It is a gritty little series with a lot of elements of a good gentleman spy novel.
