How do I update the lens on my Nikon D3100?
It’s easy, download the two files from Nikon, unzip, put the firmware bin file on your formatted camera card, turn on your camera, from “setup menu”, find & select “firmware version” then “update”. This step was missing from Nikon’s instructions: Once the firmware is updated delete the bin file from the card or the camera won’t see the lens update.
