SRW stands for single rear wheel and DRW stands for dual rear wheel. “Duallys,” or dual rear wheel trucks, offer a higher gross vehicle weight (GVWR), which contributes to a higher towing capacity. It’s easy to feel the difference between SRW and DRW when you’re behind the wheel.

That much is obvious. While SRW is the standard wheel layout of pretty much any vehicle, many heavy-duty trucks, including the Ford F-350, the Chevy Silverado 3500, the GMC Sierra 3500 HD, and the Ram 3500 all have DRW, or duallys, as an option.
Are Duallys better for towing?
Compared to standard pickup trucks, dually trucks have clear performance advantages such as increased maximum towing and payload capacities, enhanced traction in dirt or mud, and greater stability and sway control when trailering, especially in windy conditions or while driving on curvy roads.
