Yes it is worth it as it definitely helps your vehicle perform better. All these branded petrol variants are better than normal fuel and an easy indicator is your fuel economy increases a bit. Other than that, if you can manage the extra money then definitely use it.

No, they don’t. Higher cetane diesel (ie V-Power) improves any diesel, higher octane petrol only improves cars that are tuned for it.

Techs I have talked to agree Shell V-Power is the better gasoline it appears to deliver a bit more power and the techs all said they run it most of the time. The only benefit I noticed when I switched from Shell V-Power to Chevron was with my Boxster.

I used to burn Chevron, but now it is not convenient to use that station, but the Shell station is very convenient for me to use. I do seem to get a little worse gas mileage with Shell. To meet Top Tier standards, companies have to use about twice the amount of anti-deposit additives. Chevron uses the same concentration in all grades.

Techron is good, no doubt. Did you notice Texaco now has Techron additive too as they merged with Chevron, and I think I have seen Exxon gas with Techron in it. I use shell vpower and a bottle of techron every 3,000 miles. I run mostly Shell V-Power now. There are no Chevron Stations in Indiana. I ran mostly Chevron when I lived in Texas.

Chevron uses the same concentration in all grades. In the U.S., Shell uses about 5 times the minimum standards in Premium and twice in regular. I use Chevron most of the time.
