Through an investment from business and industry partners of approximately $36 million, the event occupies a space equivalent to 20 football fields. In 2019, there were more than 6,500 contestants in 103 separate events.
Does SkillsUSA give scholarships?
Scholarships will be awarded annually over five years to provide tuition support. The first year of the program is the 2021-2022 school year. Applications must be submitted via the online form to the national office of SkillsUSA for review and determination by midnight June 1.
What happens if you win SkillsUSA nationals?
State winners go on the national competition: The SkillsUSA Championships. Other contests include the WorldSkills Competition, the opportunity to design the National Leadership and Skills Conference Pin and the chance to have your photography published in SkillsUSA Champions magazine.
Is regionals better than nationals?
While national accreditation might seem more authoritative than regional accreditation, this isn’t always the case. Regional accreditation is older and more prestigious than national, except in a few cases. Most non-profit colleges have regional accreditation, not national accreditation.
How do you qualify for regionals figure skating?
There is no requirement other than test level (and, for some levels, age) for entering into Regional competition. Any eligible USFSA skater of the appropriate test level may enter his or her region’s Regional Competition.
