Is a partner interview a formality?
Like all interviews, it does not mean you have the job until there is a formal offer. The Partner’s interview is usually the last but most important stage; they will make or break the hiring. As someone who has done the initial interviews, I have many candidates fail at that stage.

How important is the partner interview?
The purpose of the interview is to make sure the candidate is a good fit for the company. There may be some set questions – and perhaps a presentation – but the interview is largely reactive; the partner asks questions in response to what you are discussing.
