Is Stafford tip open in lockdown?

We are working hard to minimise the risk of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection spreading. All of our recycling centres are open, with some restrictions in place to help protect yourself and the staff.

Are Staffordshire tips open?

Staffordshire County Council have reopened all sites. Please see below for opening hours and acceptable waste streams as there may be some changes.

Are tips Open Tamworth?

Tamworth residents can use the centres at Lichfield or Burntwood ‘if absolutely essential’. The site at Lower House Farm in North Warwickshire, which can be used by Tamworth residents, is open again subject to a number of restrictions. It will be open for ‘essential’ use only and subject to an online booking system.

Can you take garden stones to the tip?

We can take stones rocks etc to the council tip, but only 4 bags at a time…..they don’t specify how big or small the bags should be.

Can you take TV to the tip?

Disposal of TV’s and monitors amongst general waste is illegal as more often than not, they contain hazardous materials that cannot be disposed of in landfill.

Can I take tree stumps to the tip?

A lot of recycling centres and tips often won’t accept loads of green waste if they contain significantly large bits of trees such as stumps, roots or thick branches. Small bits of trees such as thin branches and leaves are generally classed as garden waste and will be widely accepted.

Can I take a fridge to the tip?

Due to the hazardous elements contained within a fridge, it must be disposed of responsibly. Therefore, you cannot leave it on the pavement, hoping for the scrap man to take away and you may also struggle taking it to your local tip as not all tips accept them.

Can I take a trailer to the tip Staffordshire?

Trailers. Small trailers are permitted but should be single axle and approximately 6 foot x 4 foot in size.
