What is FP200 made of?
FP200 Gold cable is stocked in red or white, in 2 core, 3 core & 4 core in 1.5mm² and 2.5mm² in drum lengths of 100m, 200m, and 500m. Plain copper, Insudite insulation, laminated aluminium foil screen and tinned copper earth wire, LSHF sheath.
Is FP200 screened?
The screening is a longitudinally applied laminated aluminium tape, in contact with the CPC, and bonded to the sheath for easy removal. The sheath is of zero halogen compound available in red, white or black.

Is FP200 suitable for outdoor use?
Yes it was apparently in the NIC spring newsletter as suitable outside zones. And although suitable for a garage it may not be suitable for a ring circuit if its less than 2.5mm². 16A radial/s are possible though.

The ‘Enhanced’ grade are designed for use where the fire detection and fire alarm systems need to support evacuation for a greater duration than that offered by the general use ‘Standard’ grade fire proof cables during a fire situation.
Does FP200 need mechanical protection?
In order to not need RCD protection, the sheath that they are referring to in the regs is for mechanical protection. This isn’t offered by the FP200 sheath.
Can you use FP200 for lighting?
The FP200 is for lighting, but its in outdoor stables which are only around 10ft high. Horses have a habbit of reaching up and playing with wires, so when lighting is installed i think i will suggest having the wiring put in conduit to be on the safe side.
