Step and threshold ramps do not require hand rails unless clinically indicated for individual client’s needs. Rail height should be between 865mm and 1000mm above the floor of the ramp. Rail height should be consistent along the length of the ramp. Handrails should not encroach into circulation spaces or ramp width.
