Are Westminster Hall debates televised?
Westminster Hall debates are available to watch on Parliament TV. Transcripts of proceedings are available in Commons Hansard, the official report of the House of Commons.
Is there a public gallery in the House of Commons?
The Public Galleries are seated areas from which members of the public may watch the proceedings of either House. Galleries exist in the Commons and Lords chambers, committee rooms and for sittings in Westminster Hall. The public gallery in the House of Commons was previously called the Strangers Gallery.
Is everything said in Parliament recorded?
Members’ words are recorded, and then edited to remove repetitions and obvious mistakes, albeit without taking away from the meaning of what is said. Hansard also reports decisions taken during a sitting and records how Members voted to reach those decisions in Divisions.
