Is Mogollon Rim open for camping?
The Red Rock Ranger District and Oak Creek Canyon visitor centers remain closed. Some developed campgrounds in the Mogollon Rim Ranger District are open and dispersed camping is allowed. Dispersed camping continues to be available as are activities such as hiking, biking and nature watching.

Just northeast of Payson is another one of my favorite places for dispersed camping in Arizona. The Mogollon Rim, an escarpment, extends for roughly 200 miles with countless dispersed camping opportunities atop the high cliffs, many with expansive views of the forests thousands of feet below.
