Are Rab Microlight jackets warm?
The Microlight is excellent, the warmth to weight ratio outstanding. It is showerproof and a great jacket to keep in the top of your pack taking up little space.
How warm is Rab Microlight Alpine?

The challenge for Rab – and a lot of other outdoor gear brands – is now to develop a rugged and effective PFC-free DWR-coating on the outer Pertex Quatum fabric. The jacket kept me warm at -13 degrees Celsius and is capable of resisting wet conditions well.
Is pertex microlight waterproof?
Simply put, no. Your Microlight Jacket is not waterproof. The Microlight Alpine Jacket is designed for alpine climbers who want something light and packable that protects them against wind and snow.
Is Rab jacket good?
The Rab Microlight Alpine is an excellent pick if you need a packable insulation layer to use in moderately wet weather. If you want the best water resistance, you can buy but still want your down jacket to act as a down jacket, look no further than the Microlight Alpine.
What is Rab Sizing like?
Personally I’d stick with a small, but a medium may work if you’re doing a ton of layering. I’ve had many Rab down jackets & for belay purposes, I’d definitely size up to the large. I find Rab does run a bit smaller/slimmer than other brands. Climbing friend!
Can Rab jackets get wet?
Don’t get it wet. Incorrect drying can damage the jacket.
Can you use Nikwax on pertex?
Pertex® fabrics use a durable water repellent (DWR) finish to prevent the outside of the fabric from absorbing water. After extensive wear and washing, you may need to reapply the DWR to your jacket. There are many products available, we recommend using Nikwax TX.

Everything is made at their factory in Sheffield, England. Outdoor clothing and sleeping bags. Buffalo products mostly have a Pertex outer and pile linings.

Should you buy the Rab microlight Alpine for wet weather?
If you commonly experience wet weather on your adventures but aren’t willing to part with all the advantages of down — like its decent weight, long life, and great packability — then look no further than the Rab Microlight Alpine.
How does the microlight alpine jacket fit?
The Microlight Alpine is considered a slim fit. It was large enough around the torso that we felt no constriction whatsoever, which is more than we can say about some other trim fitting jackets in the lineup. The coat has a loose enough fit that wearing a layer underneath is no problem.
