What are Pseudopolyps?
Pseudopolyps are a benign complication of active colitis and occur in areas of mucosal loss. They consist of isolated oedematous and congested mucosal remnants arising from the mucosa surrounding ulcerated areas.
What is granular mucosa?
A granular appearance of the colonic mucosa represents edema and small erosions. This is one of the earliest radiographic sign of ulcerative colitis, although in this case it was visible in long-standing disease.
How do I get rid of pseudopolyps?
Treatment. There isn’t usually any specific treatment needed for pseudopolyps that are a result of Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. Typically, it’s recommended (as always) that if any inflammation is present from the IBD, treatment should be continued or initiated to get it under control.
