Is Cuben Fiber worth it?
Because Cuben has poor resistance to abrasion and puncture. For its weight, it’s pretty good, but for my uses I would never buy a pack made only of Cuben, even the heaviest version of it — it would get trashed by a few bushwhacks or rough bumps against granite.

How long should my tarp tie outs be?
For ground-level perimeter tie-out points like at the corners and vestibules, I recommend 4 feet of cord. With a 4-foot length, the McCarthy hitch (my preference) can be completed if the anchor is less than 1.5 feet away.

I would recommend the Standard Dyneema (Cuben) Fiber Tarp with Doors. This ultralight tarp will keep you warm and dry in just about any condition. It can even be used to go to ground if someone steals all the tress from your campsite. To me, the higher price is worth the weight to save every ounce.
