In 1917 the Waimanalo Military Reservation was established by Executive Order on 1,496 acres of sand dunes and sugarcane land. In 1933 the reservation was renamed Bellows Field for 2nd Lieutenant F. B. Located between Inoaʻole and Waimanalo Streams, it is open to the public on weekends and on national holidays.

Who can use the facilities, programs, and services at Bellows AFS? Eligible patrons are active duty military personnel, military retirees, reservists, National Guard, current and retired DoD civilian employees, their family members with an authorized ID card, and disabled veterans with VA Health Identification Card.
Is bellows beach good for snorkeling?
Bellows Field Beach Park usually provides calm water conditions unless the ocean waves are large. This is a great beach for a long walk along beautiful Waimanalo Bay or just relaxing on the white sand beach, though it is not such a great beach for snorkeling.

Dogs are allowed in all areas below the high-tide line. (Dogs can be on the ovean side of the debris line often marked by seaweed.) Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Take your dog home at first sign on unfriendly behavior.

Outstanding stay! Our stay at the oceanfront cabins on Bellows is phenomenal. Beautiful landscape, easy access to the water (like literally right outside the cabin door!). Yes, as other reviews previous pointed out, there are the occasional bugs, mostly after dark. And, yes, there is no A/C.
