How do you lime wash?
Limewash is best applied by using a flat brush or masonry paintbrush. Stir the limewash well before and during application, apply working the wash well into the surface. The limewash should be applied in several thin coats. Avoid runs or drips running down the face of the work.

Sol-silicate is a combination of silica sol and water glass. Silicate paints bond by penetration of the potassium silicate binder into a mineral substrate, which then crystallises to form a permanent bond with the substrate.

They are formed by mixing potash water glass, K2SiO3xH2O with lime, quartz based fillers and mineral pigments. Once painted onto a wall they absorb carbon dioxide, and the lime-based binders carbonate and water silicate-based binders solidify. They form SiO2 x H2O and K2CO3.

Cement paint is to be made into a creamy consistency by adding three volumes of Cement Paint to one volume of water. Normally cement paint must be added to water and not water to cement paints. The above paste is diluted to a suitable paint consistency by adding, while stirring, further 2-3 volumes of water.
How do you make cement paint?
You make it by mixing Portland cement powder with clean cold water. Mix it to the consistency of regular paint. With the cement block clean and slightly damp, take an old paintbrush and paint the area to be repaired with the cement paint. Brush it on as you would paint, but not too thick.
