What is a bond effective date?
The effective date is the date on which the surety bond becomes active. Coverage is not provided for the time before the effective date. Many governing authorities consider the effective date to be the date at which they receive the original bond.
Can you revoke a bond and get your money back?
If your agreement with the bail bond agent allows it, you can revoke your agreement and withdraw your responsibility for the bail bond. You can do so if you believe the defendant plans to skip a court date or is not following the conditions of the bail.
