RENITEC lowers high blood pressure, which doctors call hypertension. It is also used to treat heart failure.
What is enalapril used for?
Enalapril is used alone or together with other medicines to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). High blood pressure adds to the workload of the heart and arteries. If it continues for a long time, the heart and arteries may not function properly.
What are the side effects of enalapril?
Common side effects
- dry, tickly cough that does not go away.
- feeling dizzy or lightheaded, especially when you stand up or sit up quickly. This is more likely to happen when you start taking enalapril or move on to a higher dose.
- headache.
- diarrhoea.
- mild skin rash.
- blurred vision.
How do you take enalapril maleate?
How to use enalapril maleate oral. Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once or twice daily. If you are using the suspension form of this medication, shake the bottle well before each dose. Carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device/spoon.
What is Renitec?
Co-Renitec® is indicated for the treatment of mild and moderate hypertension in patients who have been stabilized with the use of individual components in the same proportions.
Does enalapril slow heart rate?
In people with heart failure, enalapril decreases heart size and increases how much blood the heart can pump out. It also increases exercise tolerance, without having much of an effect on heart rate.

How quickly does Zircol work?
The recommended dose is 10 mg once daily, at least 15 minutes before a meal. The dose may be increased to 20 mg once daily depending on the individual response. Dose titration should be gradual, as it may take about 2 weeks for the maximal antihypertensive effect to be apparent.
