Can you camp in Lost Creek Wilderness?
Lost Park, Spruce Grove, and Twin Eagles Campgrounds are located adjacent to Lost Creek Wilderness on the west side. Lost Park and Twin Eagles are first come, first served and Spruce Grove can be reserved at Recreation.gov. Trails and campgrounds on the east side are managed by the South Platte Ranger District.

Can you hunt Lost Creek Wilderness?
The Lost Creek Wilderness has everything—peaks, creeks, outcroppings, arches, canyons, and scenery galore. You can fish, hunt (in certain areas), climb, ride horses, and follow the trails through the 119,790 acres of wilderness.
Are bear canisters required in Lost Creek Wilderness?
Bear canisters are not required, but bears do live in the area, so protect your food by hanging it or by storing it in a bear-proof container (bear canister, Ursack, etc.). As always, follow the Leave No Trace principles to preserve the wilderness for everyone.

Hiking and backpacking are the most common outdoor activities in Lost Creek Wilderness, but you can also enjoy fishing, hunting, and rock climbing in some areas. Mountain bikes and motorized recreation vehicles are not allowed on trails in wilderness areas.

This is a seasonal area that is only open March through October typically. Usal Beach used to be popular with Jeep and 4×4 clubs because of this rugged drive and the ability to drive right onto the beach, but driving on the beach is no longer allowed and citations are issued to those that ignore the rules.
