How do you feed Alveopora?

Alveopora would likely benefit from regular feedings but they may be a challenge to feed. What we have done recently here is make a mix of several commercially available powdered plankton foods and feed them all together to all of our corals.

What do Acropora corals eat?

Difficulty Level: Alveopora is a semi hard coral with a mature and stable tank being a must. Feeding: Alveopora is mostly photosynthetic when compared to close related gonioporaspecies, but they do still benefit from small meet based foods including baby brine and smaller items.

The Alveopora Coral requires low to moderate lighting combined with low water movement. For continued good health, it will also require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water. The diet of this coral should consist of micro-plankton or brine shrimp.

Some goniopora require lots of food and some do not.. The red ORA goni does fine without direct feeding but seems to do better with some feedings. Some goniopora though require lots of feeding, it is the key to keeping allot of the harder to keep varieties.

Alveopora can be aggressive and will sting other corals with their sweeper tentacles.

How fast do Goniopora grow?

Once the tissue reaches the plug or rock encrusting growth can be as quick as 1 mm a month. The next step in Goniopora propagation (and for all corals for that matter) is sexual reproduction in captivity.
