Are MDF Skirting Boards OK?
MDF is great for many reasons. Unlike Pine, there’s no knots or imperfections and MDF requires less time to prepare. This is because all it needs is sanding down for smoothness and then primed ready for the final paint finish. MDF is also great as it’s quick to get prepared.

Does B&Q cut skirting to size?

Take the size of your room into consideration when choosing skirting boards – if you have high ceilings you should opt for taller skirting boards. Equally, if you have low ceilings, you should avoid tall skirting boards as any horizontal lines will visually shorten your room.

Do you paint white MDF skirting?
If you going for white, then you will simply need a white primer. However, if you are after something different, you may need the matching primer. For example, a grey primer. You will need to apply some primer now if your skirting board is unprimed MDF.
