How long does it take to get CQC registered?

The CQC takes an average of 10 weeks to assess an application, but there is a lot to do first … make sure you are ready for them to view your service, talk to you and ensure you are able to explain your service and your responsibilities to the CQC including showing: How, as a provider, you meet the regulations.
What is CQC registered?

This legislation means that providers of health and adult social care have to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). By being registered with CQC, you can demonstrate to your patients that you are providing a service that meets essential standards of quality and safety.
Do self employed carers need to be registered with CQC?
Private self-employed carers referred to as Personal Assistants by CQC who are directly employed by an individual, or related third party, and self-employed PAs with an agreement to work directly for an individual does not need to be CQC registered.

How do I get a CQC certificate?
To apply to register an NHS trust, please contact our National Customer Service Centre on 03000 61 61 61 or email [email protected]. If you are a new provider of NHS health care services, you can apply for registration and NHS Improvement’s provider licence at the same time.
Who can register with CQC?

Usually there will be one registered manager for the regulated activity provided at each location. However, where a number of regulated activities are being provided, each may have a different registered manager. In other circumstances, there may be more than one registered manager at a location.
Can a registered manager be prosecuted?
For those that are registered, prosecution under criminal law is only one of the powers that The Commission may exercise to enforce the regulations.
What qualifications do you need to be a self-employed carer?
Becoming a self employed carer requires registration with HMRC as a self-employed but typically not the Care Quality Commission (CQC). You do not have to register with CQC until you reach 5 workers. You will need to provide a DBS certificate for each worker in your business, including yourself.
Can I pay a friend to be my carer?
In some cases, you can opt for your personal assistant or carer to receive and manage the direct payments from the local council on your behalf. This is usually set up when someone lacks the mental capacity to do it themselves – and usually when the person’s family has asked for the arrangement.
Can you have two registered managers CQC?

When was CQC registration deferred to 2013?
CQC registration for providers whose main or sole purpose is NHS primary medical services was deferred to 1st April 2013. Independent healthcare organisations whose main purpose is not NHS primary medical services were required to be registered with CQC from October 2010.
