FiftyThree had offices in New York City and Seattle. On August 21, 2018, WeTransfer acquired FiftyThree’s assets and patents. As such, Paper and Paste apps are now products of WeTransfer.

What happened to FiftyThree?
Today FiftyThree announced its apps and team have been acquired by WeTransfer, a cloud-based file transfer company with headquarters in Amsterdam and Los Angeles. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but WeTransfer said it had acquired the company’s entire patent portfolio and all assets for its apps.
Can Apple pencil work with paper 53?

What happened to paper app?
It never came to Android, and the iOS version was last updated in March 2015. Creative Labs, the initiative inside Facebook that built Paper and several other experimental apps, was shuttered in December. Paper will be removed from the App Store later today.
