When do you use Comfeel?

Comfeel Plus Ulcer Dressing can be used in the management of low to moderate exuding venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, superficial burns, superficial partial – thickness burns, donor sites, postoperative wounds and skin abrasions. It can also be used to rehydrate necrotic tissue, which is then removed by autolysis.

Is Comfeel good for burns?

Comfeel Plus Transparent may be used for superficial burns, superficial partial-thickness burns, donor sites, post-operative wounds and skin abrasions. The dressing can stay on the wound for up to 7 days depending on the specific wound characteristics.

When do you remove Comfeel dressing?

All caesarean wounds are covered with a ‘Comfeel’ dressing. This dressing is removed by the patient at home usually 3 weeks after surgery. It is best removed after a shower – lift one corner & slowly pull the dressing away from the skin. It may pull a bit on any hair but will not damage the healing wound.

How do you use Comfeel plus transparent dressing?

Cut to fit areas where skin is at risk. Remember to cut before removing the protective papers. Consider aseptic technique during handling and apply with the adhesive side of the product facing the skin. Gently swipe your fingers on the product to make it adhere to the skin.

Can I put hydrocolloid on open wound?

Hydrocolloid dressings are not suitable for all types of wounds. In particular, these dressings should not be used on wounds that are infected or require drainage. Hydrocolloid dressings are not ideal for wounds that require regular assessing as it can be difficult to see the wound without removing the dressing.
