Surefire is based out of California which is an expensive place to do business. They use premium materials/components in their products. They do a lot of R&D for their products (Their XVL2 was in development for years). Unlike Rolex, Surefire has a phenomenal warranty for their products.

Looking at several photos of Surefire X300’s there are physical differences, main one being the battery compartment lever on this light is not the low profile lever that’s on the real Surefire’s, it opens up ridiculously easily.
Can you remove the surefire from a weapon without tools?
The Surefire is easily attached and removed from a weapon with no tools, and I never had any issues with it coming loose regardless of what weapon was used with the light.

Is the surefire x300u better than the Streamlight WML?
Purchased the Surefire to run alongside a TLR-1 HL for a three day night shooting course. I’ve always loved the Streamlight WML’s and not yet been disappointed in them, but since I keep hearing that Surefire is a better light and had a few extra dollars to spend I purchased the X300U for a personal comparison.
