In April 2020, Cornelia Funke announced on her website, that a fourth installment of the Inkworld adventures would be published by October 2021, which came as a surprise. The title of the novel was Die Farbe der Rache (The Color of Revenge), and is the final part of the story.
Is inkheart a good book?
This book is well written and enthralling. The story line is well organized and keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. I made the mistake of watching the movie before reading the book, and it spoiled some major parts of the story for me, so keep that in mind if you are thinking about watching the movie.

Who does Meggie end up with in Inkheart?
At the end of Inkdeath, Meggie had fallen in love with Doria instead. Farid tries to make up with Meggie by asking her to join him around Inkworld, but Meggie said that she didn’t want to go but wished him luck. Farid attempts to kiss her but Meggie turns her head and returns to Doria, whom she later marries.
