Are Redington Reels any good?
We frequently recommend them over other similarly priced rods due to the fact that they cast better and are a little more durable. To date, however, Redington reels have been a bit lackluster. The Redington Rise was decent trout reel but aside from that, most of the reels were composite with fairly sticky drags.

Excellent reel for a Syndicate or other lightweight nymph rod. Holds 100ft backing plus a 90ft line and 20 leader/tippet.
Does the Redington behemoth have a sealed drag?
The Behemoth does not have a sealed drag system. With that in mind it is recommended that if you take it salt water fishing that you thoroughly wash the reel, line, and the rest of your gear after use (then again that should happen regardless).

Is Redington a good fly rod?
Redington has put together a very solid offering with the TRACE. It’s light, casts wonderfully from 20-60 feet, and has the backbone to handle big fish, big flies, and wind. The 9′ 5wt is very close to being a true do-it-all rod, and it surprised me with its accuracy and light weight.
