Are Yakima Q-Clips universal?
While Q-Towers are universal, the Q-Clips are specially engineered for your vehicle. By using the proper clips (which almost always attach in the vehicle’s door jams) you will securely mount the Q-Towers to the roof of your car.
Do Yakima base clips work with Q Towers?
Q-Towers – Made from 1993 to 2018: These towers use Q-Clips. Starting in 2016 fits for the Q-system began winding down and are replaced with the BaseLine system.

Can a Thule box fit on a Yakima rack?
Expert Reply: If you were to use a Thule cargo box like the Motion XT # TH629806 then yes, this box is compatible with a Yakima round bar roof rack. Sometimes the mounting hardware that comes with roof accessories will require an adapter to fit different style of crossbars though.
How far apart should Yakima crossbars be?
The roof rack bars must have a minimum of 26″ between the towers (M1 & M3). If not, there must be at least 3.75″ of crossbar extending outside the tower (see Figure 3), and do not position mounting hardware more than 1″ away from the outside of the tower.
