What is the Latta Plantation?
Located in the Latta Nature Reserve in Huntersville, the plantation consists of a visitors’ center, plantation house, farm, and other assorted buildings. There are a couple of very friendly animals roaming around the farm area and the people who work there are really nice and informative.
How long does it take to walk the Latta Plantation trail?
The Latta Plantation runs this event the Friday and Saturday before Halloween only. We arrived at around 7:45pm and we didn’t start the trail walk until 9:00pm. The walk itself took about 10-15 minutes to get through. The experience was part historical reenactment and part haunted house.

Why was Latta’s event in Charlotte canceled?
The event was canceled after backlash from the public, and was quickly condemned by the county, the town of Huntersville and Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles. The event’s organizer, site manager Ian Campbell, posted a lengthy response on Latta’s website defending the event.
