Yes and no. You can serve hot apple cider with or without alcohol. I recommend warming your fresh apple cider without adding any alcohol to it. (Warming hard cider or cider mixed with alcohol is likely to burn off the alcohol, which sort of defeats the purpose of it.)

Yes, you can reheat mulled cider. You can make your mulled cider, strain it and then cool it. When you are ready to serve, just return the mulled cider to your slow cooker or a saucepot and gently reheat but do not bring to a boil.

When you scoop the hot cider into glasses, just drain these out (or scoop them out prior to serving). Or garnish your drink with the orange slices and cinnamon sticks! Add all ingredients in a large pot and simmer as long as you need prior to serving! You can add more apple cider if the heat causes it to reduce a bit.
