Can you search The National Archives for free?
You will be required to register for a free account on our website and be logged in to be able to download documents. To find records that are available to download for free, filter your search results in Discovery to include records that are ‘available for download only’.
How do I find someone in The National Archives?
If you select ‘Search other archives’ you will be able to select a specific archive to search within – to do this, just type in the name of the archive and then select it. If you want to search within multiple archives, simply type in the names one at a time and select them.
