The hugely successful Ramside Estates business began with the purchase of the Ramside Hall in 1963 by the then chairman of Ramside Estates, Michael Adamson. Ramside Hall was subsequently transformed into a hotel that opened its doors in 1964 with just 12 bedrooms, a restaurant and grill and a meeting room.
