A summer dance intensive is typically a week or multi-week program that includes advanced instruction in various elements of dance necessary for you to advance as an artist. During the intensive, you will work alongside 20 – 30 other students, receiving instruction from professional level instructors.
How old do you have to be to go to the Royal Ballet School?
Full-time dancer training Our full-time courses are for students aged 11-19 years. They begin for the younger students at our White Lodge campus in Richmond Park, where we run a five-year classical ballet course alongside secondary academic studies.
What does the Royal Ballet School look for?
What do you look for in an audition? Our panel is looking for the individual’s potential and suitability for pre-vocational training. Our panel also look for a number of other attributes including musicality, flexibility and coordination.
How do you get into Royal Ballet School?
Full-time training
- Boys and girls aged 14.00-15.11 by 31 August 2022 (in school years 9 or 10)
- Demonstrable commitment to the student of classical ballet and a good technical facility acquired through previous dance training.
- Girls must be en pointe and able to take part in pointe work training.

Is there a height limit for ballerinas?
The height requirements of dancers are really designated by the ballet companies hiring. Most ballet company’s average height for a female is approximately 167cm. However, in Europe some companies require females to be no taller than the traditional 165cm, while others have a minimum height of 173cm.
