According to notes written by Fleming in his first-edition of Diamonds Are Forever “Felix Leiter is based on no one”. His name came from two American friends of Fleming’s, Ivar Bryce (his middle name being Felix) and Marion Oates Leiter.
Why did Jack Lord stop playing Felix Leiter?
