How do I activate MMS on Telstra?
Set up your phone for picture messaging
- Find “Access Point Names” Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the screen.
- Create new data connection. Press ADD.
- Enter APN. Press APN.
- Enter MMSC. Press MMSC.
- Enter IP address. Press MMS proxy.
- Enter port number. Press MMS port.
- Enter country code.
- Enter network code.
What is Telstra MMS?
Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a standard way to send messages that include multimedia content to and from mobile phones. It extends the core SMS (Short Message Service) capability that allowed exchange of text messages.
Does MMS use data Telstra?
MMS have always used the data capabilities of your phone, even before Smartphones as we know them today. While their internet functions were more limited they did still have network connections, including the ability to send and receive data. To clarify on this though, while it does use data the amount is very small.

Why can I not receive picture messages?
Check the Android phone’s network connection if you can’t send or receiving MMS messages. Open the phone’s Settings and tap “Wireless and Network Settings.” Tap “Mobile Networks” to confirm it is enabled. If not, enable it and attempt to send a MMS message.
Are Emojis picture messages?
Some third-party applications and keyboards will send emojis as photo messages. If you are only inserting emojis using the keyboard on your device as part of a text, then a text is usually sent providing you have the latest software for your device.
Does an emoji count as a picture message?
On these handsets, when an emoji is added to a text message it is automatically converted into a picture message. These aren’t usually included in users’ packages and can cost up to 40p each depending on the network provider.
