What is Community maternity unit?
Community midwives work in the community, based in community hubs. The midwives look after you and your baby, usually for up to 10 days after you have given birth and are back at home. All women are offered a choice of birth in hospital or at home.

It has been confirmed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) that it has downgraded Sheffield’s Jessop Wing maternity unit from “outstanding” to “inadequate” following an investigation that was carried out in March.
