Check out page 36 in your Denon owners manual. Make sure you have all HDMI CEC settings in the receiver off. Many items are sent from the factory with the HDMI CEC set ON as a default from the factory.

Can I connect a PC/laptop to my Denon 4308ci via HDMI?
You should easily be able to connect a PC/Laptop to your Denon via HDMI. Just make sure you are using a resolution the Denon can accept such as 1080p. (1920 x 1080). Do you have a 4K TV connected to your 4308CI?
