How does RockShox remote lockout work?
New Rockshox TwistLoc remote lockout cleans up fork & shock controls. The TwistLoc uses a GripShift-style twisting barrel to pull 10mm of cable and hold it taught. This works with SRAM’s remote-compatible forks and shocks, like the new SID, to lock them out.
Can I remove remote lockout RockShox?
You basically pull the remote off and take the gear cable out of it. Cut it to about 2 inches. Then pull it through the top of the damper holding it with your hand in the open position. Finally you tighten it down and your fork will always be locked out.
How do you bleed XLoc?
Firmly press the hydraulic hose back onto the hose barb until the hose bottoms out. Bleed your XLoc according to the XLoc bleed procedure. carefully cut a slit in the hydraulic hose across the top of the hose barb at the fork crown and the hose barb at the XLoc. Do not scratch the hose barbs.
How do I remove remote lockout?
All you have to do:
- Have a friend handy.
- Remove the remote, but save the cable and leave the fix screw on the lockout loose.
- Cut the cable to be about 10” long.
- Thread cable backwards into the lockout barrel (top-left of image, cable going down)
- Have that friend hold the lockout open (unlocked)
What is Poploc on RockShox?
The Poploc is a little remote that mounts on your bars and connects to the top of the right fork leg via a cable. It allows you to lock out the fork/adjust the compression from the bars.

Is the RockShox Superlight Integrated Design (SID) the stiffest 29in cross-country Fork?
The new SID isn’t the stiffest 29in cross-country fork out there, but this wasn’t RockShox’s intention; rather that intention was to build a fork for 29in wheels that lives up to the Superlight Integrated Design (SID) tag, which this fork seems to admirably.
Which RockShox x-loc damper should I use?
For this reason, we’d recommend using the negative air chamber and/or damper to adjust the feel of the fork, not the positive chamber. The XX damper with its X-Loc remote is pretty much the same as last year’s, save for the new DNA spring tube. RockShox say this offers better consistency and damping performance.
Can I Have my RockShox suspension serviced?
We recommend that you have your RockShox suspension serviced by a qualified bicycle mechanic. Servicing RockShox suspension requires knowledge of suspension components as well as the special tools and fluids used for service. Used suspension fluid should be recycled or disposed of in accordance to local and federal regulations.
