This trail has a massive washout and is closed from the Trout Lake access side (south) 1.5 miles in. This is posted at the trailhead. Lovely trail, not strenuous from that side but tons of windfall and in need of trail maintenance for that badly. If you want to access Emerald Lake, you must start on the north side.
