Arrowhead offers camping in three campgrounds: Roe, East River and Lumby. Roe Campground generally offers the most private, well-drained sites. The beach near this campground is less crowded and offers great access for fishing.
Are there bears in Arrowhead Provincial Park?
Yes, Arrowhead is known for having bears within the park. Camped there 3 times this summer and each time saw a bear. We have seen them on camp sites and we have also seen them while hiking on the trails. We have seen them many times at arrowhead in the past as well.

Does Arrowhead Provincial Park have electricity?
Everything you expect from an Ontario provincial park is here: comfort stations with showers, sani-dump station, garbage and recycling, electric at some sites and water spigots around the campground. They also have an amphitheatre and several hiking trails, including one to the lookout over Big Bend.

Where do you park at Arrowhead Provincial Park?
You’ll find two parking areas around East River Campground, three parking areas around Roe Campground, three parking lots around Lumby Campground. There are two parking areas by the shore of the Arrowhead Lake in the park. Overnight parking is also available for RV campers at Arrowhead Provincial Park.
Do you need bear spray in Algonquin?
Use a whistle or airhorn, or bear spray if you have them. Do not turn and run – this may trigger a predatory response in the bear. Do not climb a tree – bears are excellent climbers.
What should you do if you encounter a bear in Ontario?
Slowly back away while keeping the bear in sight and wait for it to leave. If the bear does not leave, throw objects, wave your arms and make noise with a whistle or air horn. Prepare to use bear spray. If you are near a building or vehicle get inside as a precaution.
Is Arrowhead Provincial Park open?
The park is open all year long. Availability of skating and skiing is weather dependent, with skiing typically becoming available in mid-December and skating beginning in January. Check our Twitter for updates.
Does Arrowhead have WIFI?
When you visit Arrowhead Stadium, and use the Service the Club provides you, you may have the capability to connect to a third-party operated wireless internet device owned by select partners of the Club.
Is Arrowhead Provincial Park free?
Free day-use permits at 115 provincial parks from Monday to Thursday during summer. Visitors will also be able to guarantee access to 17 select provincial parks, including Arrowhead in Huntville, to avoid long line-ups during popular and busy visitation times by obtaining a daily vehicle permit in advance.
