Do you still have to make reservations for the St Louis Zoo?
Limited attendance; reservations required: In order to allow guests to practice good social distancing, the Zoo will limit attendance and require free, timed-ticket reservations in order to enter the Zoo. Reservations are available on the Zoo’s website.
How long does it take to walk around the St Louis Zoo?
If you visit all the exhibit areas at you are looking at 4-7 hours and that would be with much reflection and time spent reading all postings/information centers at all exhibits. You may of course easily skip much of that if you are visiting with small children and tailor your visit to be as little as 2-5 hours.
Is it safe to visit the St Louis Zoo?
The Zoo is totally safe. I frequently attend events in Forest Park both during the day and after dark, and am never worried.
Do you have to wear a mask at the St. Louis Zoo?
Masks/face coverings are required indoors for all guests age five and older, including those who are vaccinated. Guests age five and older not fully vaccinated are required to wear masks/face coverings both indoors and outdoors.
Why is the St. Louis Zoo closing?

Why is the STL Zoo closing?
The unfortunate decision was made by both Bonner and Dana Brown, the President and CEO of the St. Louis Zoo. Seeing as how the Children’s Zoo was designed for high-touch and interactive experiences, keeping it open was not conducive to a COVID or post-COVID environment.
What time does the St. Louis Zoo open?
*The Zoo will close to the public at 4 p.m. each night of Wild Lights. At this time, all pathways, exhibits, and attractions will close. Doors re-open at 5:30 p.m. for the event. Zoo visitors who are planning to attend Wild Lights the same day may receive a sticker with their ticket purchase from a Welcome Desk before 4 p.m.
When does the zoo close?
