The Civil Services Examination (CSE), conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has three stages – Prelims, Main and Interview. The application for the Preliminary stage comes in around the month of February of that particular year. Aspirants have to fill the application form of the preliminary examination within the deadline announced by the UPSC. After filling the application form, the candidate gets the Admit Card to sit for the examination. For example, if a candidate has filled an application form for the year 2020, the UPSC Admit Card 2020 will be available to be downloaded from 2nd week of May onward as the preliminary examination is scheduled on 31st May 2020.
As we know, the admit card is released online at least three weeks before the preliminary examination, UPSC admit card 2020 is expected to be out in the 2nd week of May, i.e. post 7th May 2020. The candidates will be allowed to download the admit card and it is to be printed in either A4 sheet or any such sheet that suits it and is to be produced before the invigilators on the day of the examination.
Candidates should know what all information is printed in the admit card. The list of such information is mentioned below:
Name of the exam – For example, if the admit card for the prelims stage has come out. It will carry the name of the two examinations that will take place on the day i.e. General Studies and the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT).
UPSC Exam Date – The date of the examination will also be given on the admit card. For example, if it is a hall ticket for the prelims exam, then the UPSC Exam date of Prelims will be given. For 2020, it will have 31st May 2020 in it.
Name of the candidate – This is the basic information which will be provided on the admit card given that shows the credibility of the candidate’s identity. You will have to carry an official ID card to substantiate your identity.
Roll No. – Your roll number decided by the commission will be printed on the hall ticket. This roll number, you have to secure till the final stage of the examination is over as any day it can come handy if you any query regarding the examination
Father’s Name – Candidate’ s father’s name is always printed on the hall ticket
Mother’s Name – Candidate’s mother name is always printed on the hall ticket for the examination
UPSC exam centre – The exam centre is the city where an aspirant has decided to take the examination in. For example, if a candidate has decided to sit for the examination in Delhi, the exam centre will be given as Delhi
Venue of exam – This is the venue where the aspirant has to produce himself/herself on the day of the examination. They should be careful while reading the centre as reaching the wrong examination centre will cost them the loss of time and opportunity to sit for the exam.
Time Table of IAS Prelims – The time of both the examination will be given.
General instructions for candidates – These are those instructions which aspirants should basically know. For example, they aren’t allowed to carry mobile phones, calculators etc in the examination hall. These are printed on the hall ticket and aspirants should adhere to these.
