But as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s premiered in Japan around near the end of the GX dub’s third season, Konami and TV Tokyo forced 4Kids to abandon GX, and focus solely on 5D’s as they wanted 5D’s to gain popularity in the west with most of the attention focused on 5D’s in favor of GX.
