Since we were formed in 2002, we have rescued 1400 Havanese. Most of our rescues are from puppy mills with a small number coming from animal shelters or owner surrenders.

Havanese are a mild and gentle breed that make for a great family pet. But just like any breed, he does need to learn good manners, and this includes not nipping. Even more than this, it’s important to teach him a general rule that biting as a whole is not acceptable.

Havanese can have one puppy in a single litter; the normal is 3, 4, or 5 puppies. Six is considered a large litter for a Havanese. I have had several 7-puppy litters, a couple 8-puppy litters and one 9-puppy litter.
